It's also a long-established education center, home to Mayo College (one of India's oldest boarding schools) and a cluster of engineering and management institutes that give it a steadier student-driven economy than its tourism numbers alone suggest. Wool trading and small-scale textile processing round out a smaller, more traditional commercial base than Jaipur's, with digital demand concentrated in travel/pilgrimage booking and education-services platforms.
