Every founder asks this question in the first five minutes of a call, and every studio that answers with a single number is lying to you. App development cost in India isn't a fixed price — it's a function of scope, platform count, backend complexity, and how disciplined the scoping process was before a single line of code got written. This post breaks down real ranges by project tier, and more importantly, what actually moves the number inside each tier.

The three tiers, honestly

  • MVP (single core workflow, one or two platforms): ₹2–5 lakh. Think a booking flow, a marketplace listing engine, or a single-purpose utility app validating one hypothesis.
  • Mid-complexity product (auth, payments, real-time features, admin dashboard): ₹8–20 lakh. This is where most funded startups actually land for a v1.
